about

Who says there's no funk in La Mesa? With a little help from Tony Hearn.

Hi I'm Gary from Fanques and The Amp Farm. I play Southern California instrumental music and have been playing guitar since around 1972. I grew up in Southern California-Los Angeles and San Diego starting in the early 60's.

The songs I write I like to think could fit in a movie and you wouldn't know that is not a high priced full fledged professional studio recording. At least that is the goal. More and more I and others like me are quickly catching up in sonic quality to the slickly produced stuff. We are cranking this stuff out in our home studios and have to keep the noise down or we get the wrath of our significant others. Wait--maybe there were advantages to professional studios after all.
